"Somewhere Only We Know"這觸動人心的抒情鋼琴歌曲，讓一個鮮為人知的小樂團變成全世界銷售千萬專輯的英倫天團。
這首Keane的國歌是"Hopes and Fears"專輯的焦點並幫助他們從像是Coldplay等英國眾多實力堅強的樂團中脫穎而出。
最早他們一開始是想以吉他彈唱製作此歌曲，但最後還是決定用鋼琴為背景音樂，所幸最後他們的決定是正確的，這首歌帶給Keane異想不到的成功，也讓他們日後被稱為沒有吉他的樂團("the band with no guitars")!
主唱 Tom Chaplin 曾說:

通常都會有一首歌曲代表我所經歷的特別過程，而當某日聽到這歌曲也會讓我想到許多以前的回憶。
"Somewhere Only We Know"這首歌曲旋律很優美、音樂很簡單，但從他的第一個旋律、第一句歌詞就讓我很感動。一首歌曲可以是歌詞很吸引人，也可以是旋律很優美，但要綜合兩者卻不容易。以前我聽外國的歌曲主要是先被他們歌曲的旋律先給吸引，後來為了了解歌詞意義才去學英文(以前英文是狂被當的科目...)。回歸主題!歌詞讓我覺得表達了情人間相處的許多無奈。往往雙方相處一陣子而分手那種感覺是很奇妙的，我們曾有共同的旅程、共同的記憶。當分開後回到一起走過的地方時，卻很難再拼湊出完整的回憶。也許隨著年紀增長開始考慮到金錢、背景、事業、家庭，那種單純的念頭可能很難再有，不論是情人或是朋友。
不過很高興的是至少回到花蓮、回到東華或是見到大學的朋友，至少那種相處的單純還是可以延續。
